The Patient Community at HELP - Ms.Anjoo Chandiramani on Introduction to The Patient Community at HELP

This video is a talk by Ms.Anjoo Chandiramani at HELP on 7th April,11 on the occasion of Launch of The Patient Community at HELP.

Topic: Introduction to The Patient Community at HELP

Watch the launch of The Patient Community@HELP. April 7th is celebrated worldwide as the World Health Day a very appropriate day to draw our attention to the vast number of patients around whom the entire healthcare industry should actually revolve.
The Patient Community@HELP is an attempt by HELP Library - to shift focus to the patients their problems -- real and perceived -- in partnership with the medical community. Doctors now believe that participation of patients plays an important role in providing good medical care resulting in high levels of patient satisfaction.
This initiative will
• Provide opportunities for patients and/or their families to share their medical stories and experiences about living with a chronic condition in order to look after themselves better.
• Encourage meaningful and beneficial interaction between doctors and patients.
• Provide medical students with the opportunity to inter-act with community members and discuss live experiences with patients coping with chronic medical conditions.
The community members will meet on every 2nd Saturday of the month to discuss defined subjects. Any one community member will present his case/story -- for 10 minutes, after which there will be a discussion with an invitee doctor / specialist to clear doubts and /or come up with the best solution to cope with the problem. To Register, please get in touch with us after today's event. To join the community please send us an email on helplibrary@gmail.com
